If this is the first time that you have visited the "Settings" page, then you should automatically be taken to the "General" Tab. If this is not the case, then please click on the General Tab shown on the left side of the screen. Here you will be able to make some basic configuration settings for your AgoraPro Forum.

  1. ACL Type; If you are using Joomla!1.5**, then make sure that this is set to "Agora ACL". This setting is only available for Joomla! Versions after 1.5**. If you are using Joomla! 1.6 or above, then it is possible to use the Joomla ACL for your Forum instead of the default Agora ACL. If you decide to use the Joomla ACL, then you will need to set up Groups (if needed) through Joomla and set the Forum Permissions through AgoraPro for the Categories and Forums. If you had already set up Groups through AgoraPro, these Groups will not be carried over to the Joomla ACL. This will need to be done manually. If you are not familiar with the Joomla ACL, then it is recommended to use the Agora ACL. Both of these methods will be explained further in the Documentation.
  2. Use Agora Cron; Some of the AgoraPro Features require Cron Jobs in order to function properly, such as the Notifications Add-On. AgoraPro has a built in Cron Job which can be used by setting this to "Yes". If set to "No", then Cron Jobs will need to be configured for these functions in your Hosting Control Panel.
  3. Agora Cron Interval; Here you can set the time in Minutes between the Cron Jobs. The default Time is 20 Minutes, which means that the Agora Cron will run once every 2o Minutes.
  4. Load CSS in Back-End; if set to "Yes", then the AgoraPro .css files will be used for the AgoraPro Administrative Area in the Back-End. Setting this to "No" will use the default Joomla .css.
  5. Delete Database Tables; when set to "Yes" the AgoraPro Database Tables will be deleted if AgoraPro is uninstalled through Joomla. Doing so will result in losing ALL data stored in the Database for your AgoraPro Forum. This is only recommended if you wish to completely un-install your AgoraPro Forum. When set to "No", only the AgoraPro Folders and Files will be removed from the Server, but the DB Tables will remain. Please Note; Regardless of this setting, if AgoraPro is un-installed all images are also removed from the Server. These include User Avatars, Attached Images and any other images that you have added after installing AgoraPro. If you wish to un-install and then install AgoraPro again, you will need to make sure that you have made a Backup of all these images so that they are not lost.
  6. Migration Limit; This setting controls how many Rows of Data will be read at one time from the DB Tables during the migration of Agora 3.** to AgoraPro. If this setting is too high, it may cause Database errors or Performance Issues may occur. If you are having problems migrating, then setting this lower is the first step to take in order to try and solve these problems.

When you have set these all the way you would like them, then confirm the Parameters by clicking "Save" in the Toolbar at the top-right of the Page, then move on to the Frontend Settings by clicking on the appropriate Tab shown on the left.
